Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. (''MGM'') is seeking a Legal Assistant to provide day-to-day support to the Library Rights Management Department, within the Legal Division. The successful candidate must have experience handling a wide range of administrative and legal support-related tasks and be able to work well within a team in a dynamic environment of constantly changing priorities.
Responsibilities
include:
• Support members of the Library Rights Management Department (Legal Division)
• Draft and edit business correspondence and emails
• Prepare, maintain and distribute various reports, on both a departmental and company-wide basis
• Research and enter data into databases, with a meticulous and focused eye to detail and accuracy
• Prepare and submit expense reports via Concur
• Prepare and submit invoices for payment via Basware
• Handle daily administrative tasks including answering phones and relaying messages, scheduling meetings, creating new file folders, file maintenance for the department head, and photocopying, scanning, ordering office supplies, etc.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
• Draft certain legal documents, commensurate with education and experience
• Various ad hoc projects, as needed
Requirements:
• BA/BS degree required - legal training a plus
• Minimum of 1-year experience in an assistant position or in a similar capacity - any prior experience in a business or legal environment a plus
• Interest in the film and entertainment industry required
• Strong computer skills (Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, LexisNexis, other database programs, such as IPM, a plus, and PDF file conversion)
• Strong typing skills
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through skills are of the highest importance
• Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and expertly problem solve
• Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information in a discrete manner
• Self-starter with a driven, motivated, professional and courteous work ethic
• Strong interpersonal skills, team-oriented yet able to take initiative, think creatively, and work independently
• Must demonstrate diplomacy, tact, and discretion when working with colleagues, greeting guests, and responding to requests
• Must be able to perform increasingly challenging administrative and project tasks in a fast-paced organization under minimal supervision, with a willingness to ask questions, as needed
