Reporting to SVP Brand Creative, The Executive Director, Brand Design will be responsible for defining, directing, and executing outstanding design leadership, including the EPIX brand, EPIX original series & unscripted content, consumer facing digital, communications, and partner platforms. The Executive Director, Brand Design will work collaboratively with internal teams of producers, designers, technologists, strategists, and marketing executives, as well as external teams. This position will lead design throughout planning and development of everything related to the overall EPIX properties.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee brand design across the organization including marketing, editorial, and digital product to ensure consistency and enforce rigorous design quality standards guided by our ever-evolving design system and style guides consistently ensuring all goals are met and creative quality meets a best-in-class standard.
• Partner with internal stakeholders across business units to elevate the brands and create a cohesive, consistent identity across all touchpoints. Create an environment of collaboration between motion and print design team, as well as brand creative teams.
• Work closely with SVP, Brand Creative, marketing, and agency partners in the development of key art and derivatives campaign creatives for all EPIX original content
• Ensure design consistency across brand touchpoints, working closely with various groups within the company.
• Work closely with product management to ensure consistency of brand & positioning
• Engage regularly with technology partners for clear understanding of their solutions, product roadmap, and joint pilot opportunities
• Work with marketing, product, and content teams to support efforts around growing brand awareness and user acquisition and retention efforts
• Understand the path of creative, ensuring it can travel effectively across all platforms and new business initiatives.
• Leverage findings from user research to create product & email communication design solutions that satisfy user goals and pain points
• Execute and oversee creation of internal and external b2b communications.
• Research new talent and resources including designers, and other outside creatives.
• Keep abreast of key design agencies for key art, digital design, new media and current design trends.
• Foster design partner relationships and managing agency projects
• Work closely with production management, product team, marketing & PR to ensure projects meet deadlines and budgets.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
• Exceptional design aesthetic
• 10 years of design for print & digital products
• 5 years' experience managing a design team at entertainment brand or agency
• Proven ability to develop and execute strategy-driven, high quality design
• Desire to be hands-on when appropriate, to problem solve quickly, and be a great partner along the way
• Strong leader and persuasive communicator with a vision, proven ability to motivate and inspire a team
• Expertise in planning & overseeing photoshoots
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to establish trust and rapport with brand marketing teams, various other internal stakeholders as well as external agencies and partners
• Proven track record of success within a fast-paced, deadline-drive, team-oriented environment where an ability to multi-task and be highly flexible is essential.
• Expert understanding of best practices in print, digital, social design.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in design or related field
• Expert in Adobe CS & Power Point
• Experience working within the media/entertainment space
