Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. ("MGM") is seeking a Director, Global Distribution Strategy.
The Individual will provide sales and operational support for global television division across deals with linear broadcast networks, SVOD, AVOD and MPVD. The Director will also support MGM's direct-to-consumer strategy and branded services platforms.
Responsibilities:
• Support day to day relationship with global distribution partners (cable, satellite, digital)
• Support ongoing distribution and sales planning negotiations through financial modeling and forecasting, drafting and reviewing legal contracts, preparing deal proposals, synthesizing analytical data and market research, content analysis and maintaining activity reports
• Prepare internal business analytics (e.g. data on revenue, partner, market and competitive trends and insights) to help drive initiatives critical to ongoing growth
• Ensure that all sales are recorded accurately and in accordance with policy and legal guidelines
• Collaborate with internal teams across all relevant functional groups including finance, materials delivery, contract servicing and international sales offices to ensure effective operation of all channels and platforms
• Develop new strategies, services and product offerings to drive meaningful engagement and reach new target audience groups and consumers
• Generate channel performance reporting and insights for internal and external stakeholders to uncover customer growth levers and identify, evaluate and size opportunities to improve consumer offering
• Prepare strategy documents, quarterly company updates and board presentations on the state of MGM's global networks business
• Support M&A and corporate level affiliated analyses and activities in conjunction with the corporate development team, including seeking out potential opportunities for the global networks division and making recommendations on business deals to maximize growth across global distribution initiatives
Basic Qualifications:
• 2-4 years of experience in the global networks business, with a minimum of 1 year in business development or strategy
• Proficient in modeling utilizing excel with experience crafting financial forecasts
• Basic understanding of financial statements and how they are developed
• Strong presentation skills with experience in shaping a sales story/message
• Ability to be flexible and be able to change courses easily in a dynamic environment
• Highly organized and detail oriented
• Capable of multi-tasking on projects across teams and experience turning insights into action
Preferred Qualifications:
• MBA or MBA candidate preferred
• Experience in video content valuation, negotiations, content development/production
• Knowledge of global media landscape, digital business models and consumer Internet/technology space
