EPIX, an MGM Company, is seeking a Director, Content Distribution who will be responsible for maximizing subscriber and revenue growth from EPIX's distribution partners. The Director will be responsible for EPIX's agreements and relationships with a group of EPIX distribution partners, working to establish relationships with new partners, negotiating extensions of existing agreements, securing product launches, favorable pricing/packaging, and marketing partnerships to drive subscribers/revenue and increase exposure for EPIX across all potential platforms.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Act as day-to-day sales lead with assigned accounts
• Negotiate new agreements, and extensions of existing agreements, with EPIX's distributors
• Maximize EPIX subscriber and revenue growth among assigned distributors, large regions/divisions for major MVPDs, and assigned commercial (bulk, hotel/motel) distributors
• Analyze and anticipate key marketplace trends that could affect the distribution and revenue outlook with subscriber forecast as well as analyzing revenue and expense trends for assigned accounts
• Collaborate with Vice President and other internal executives on account strategy, contract development, sell-in and execution of subscription-based initiatives that support channel priorities and help meet EPIX's goals
• Gather information on customer trends, plans, priorities and obstacles by regularly meeting with clients; share intelligence with appropriate Content Distribution team members to maximize opportunities and minimize risks
• Develop and maintain an in-depth database of distribution trends among clients (e.g., packaging, strategies, competitive offers and packages) with a focus on monitoring value creation and partnership opportunities (interactive applications, Español, e.g.)
• Identify and target prospect platforms and systems for potential product distribution and packaging
SKILL REQUIREMENTS, EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
• Minimum 5 years' experience in either a premium sales department or a programming department of a major U.S. distributor
• Undergraduate degree required; emphasis on business preferred
• Demonstrates strong negotiating skills with outstanding business acumen
• Communicates clear strategic direction while presenting to distributors and senior staff (e.g., excel and power point skills expected)
• Possesses the ability to work as a self-starter, problem-solver, detailed reader, and creative thinker
• Keeps informed of the industry's latest trends and emerging platforms with a high expertise and knowledge of the business
• Maintains a proven track record of success in executing distribution agreements for linear networks and/or other content services, ideally with exposure to new media transactions
• Ability to represent EPIX persuasively and effectively in high-stakes settings
• Displays strong analytical and financial skills
