Counsel, Distribution Business and Legal Affairs

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. ("MGM") is seeking an experienced Attorney to join the Distribution Legal and Business Affairs team. The candidate must be self-motivated with meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

• Draft and review agreements, legal documents, and correspondence related to the current and future business of MGM's distribution groups, including television, home video and digital distribution
• Negotiate and draft licensing agreements
• Advise management in the structuring of licensing deals and film rights acquisition contracts.
• Provide advice and counsel to management at MGM Television regarding all business and legal arrangements
• Ensure that licensing and distribution contracts by which the Company is or will be legally bound accurately express the Company's objectives; amend as appropriate

Basic Qualifications:

• J. D. Degree
• Admission to the California State Bar
• 1 years as an attorney, in-house legal counsel, or junior business affairs executive at an entertainment company and/or new media technology company and/or a leading law firm required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Expertise in negotiating television distribution agreements and licensing deals
• Experience negotiating film rights acquisition contracts a plus
