Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. ("MGM") is seeking a Coordinator, Legal Billing and Budgets. This candidate will work closely with the Legal, Accounting, and Finance departments to process Legal invoices for the Company and assist with the budgeting process for the Legal Division. Position also assists with Litigation department filing.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Analyze, process and monitor all Legal Division invoices for the company, from receipt through coding and approval workflows; this consists mainly of law firm invoices, some other legal resource vendors, and other miscellaneous payments going out; candidate will be under the auspices of the Litigation department but work very closely with the company's AP department
• Obtain and review required documentation for AP to set up new vendors
• Manage and respond to inquiries regarding invoice and payment status
• Review vendor account statements, perform reconciliations, and request missing invoices as needed
• Maintain electronic files and support documentation as required
• Prepare quarterly accrual reporting for the Finance Department
• Prepare reclasses for any legal invoices as needed
• Assist with the preparation of the yearly budget for 10 departments within the Legal Division; entails running reports from the company's finance system and reviewing and aggregating additional information necessary to prepare analyses/reporting of company-wide legal fee spend, and preparing forms for legal fees and other non-salary overhead costs for budget submission
• Print/file Litigation Department documents, mainly correspondence, discovery documents and court filings
Requirements:
• BA/BS degree
• A/P invoice processing, prior accounting experience or a basic understanding of accounting as it applies to accounts payable
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and familiarity with enterprise software and databases (e.g., Basware, SAP)
• Prior Studio or Law Firm experience desirable
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Detail oriented; ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and with a team
