Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. ("MGM") is seeking an Inventory & Research Coordinator who will be working in the MGM Technical Services area, a part of the Asset Management Delivery Services Department.
Primary Responsibilities
• Work in MGM's digital file, film, and video asset databases, including but not limited to general data entry, specific asset updates and modifications along with numerous report extracts
• Will accurately log the metadata of all incoming and outgoing physical materials, tracking temporary loan-out and return of materials to permanent locations
• Review physical assets on-site for identification and determination of future permanent residence
• Will, as required. correspond with other studios, production, legal entities to locate and gain access to physical assets and or return assets
• Learn and keep up-to-date on all work instructions, general vault storage procedures and internal security policies
• Individual will work cross-functionally with various MGM Departments and will from time to time be the key liaison with domestic and foreign vendor and storage sites
• Earmark redundant or otherwise unneeded assets for recycling or destruction
• Inventory, pack and move physical tape and film assets (up to 30 lbs)
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Must have 6 mos. -- 2 years of experience in library services, digital file, film, or video asset management
• Familiarity with the different types of tape based media (i.e. DBC, HDCAMSR) is required
• Familiarity with various film assets (negative, mag, print, 35mm, 16mm, etc.) is required
• Familiarity with digital media file types
• Familiarity with database management and significant amounts of data entry
• Proficiency in MS Office
• Strong Excel skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Must have a professional attitude and the ability to work cooperatively with co-workers
• Must be able to take and follow directions from department supervisor
• Superior attention to detail
• Self-motivated team player
• Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment, mindful of project demands and time constraints
• Ability to multi-task and juggle different priorities with a positive attitude and patient demeanor
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs
