We are excited to be expanding our Live365 (A Media Creek Inc. company) Marketing team with a part-time Content Writer! Our ideal candidate is a music lover that also demonstrates an understanding of marketing concepts as well as technology knowledge, especially as it relates to internet radio, broadcasting, and podcasting. As a writer, you should be a quick learner, able to interpret complex information to a learning audience, and incredibly detail-oriented. The ability to come up with new ideas for blog pieces as well as write based on preexisting ideas and information is a key part of the role.
About the Role
Content Writers at Live365 develop ideas and write for the Live365 blog, publishing new content daily according to our blog schedule. The articles that are published on the Live365 blog throughout the week include: Featured Spotlight Station (400+ words), Music News (200-300 words), Special Features, Top 10 Music Lists (200-800 words), Broadcaster Information (600+ words), and Podcaster Information (600+ words). Our new Content Writer will be responsible for the majority of our current blog content with the opportunity to help expand our offering with new and engaging blog series.
The core responsibilities include:
-Writing and publishing new blog articles daily according to our blog schedule and topics
-Developing new and engaging blog series to add to our schedule
-Following blog writing guidelines to ensure consistency across Live365 blog
-Writing copy for corresponding social media posts
-Proofreading and editing blog articles
-Rewriting and editing outdated published blog articles
Career Paths on the Marketing Team
The Content Writer role reports directly to the Marketing Manager and may communicate with other teams to acquire necessary information for blog articles. There is the opportunity for upward mobility, so Content Writers will be considered for future job opportunities first.
-This is a part-time, remote position. As a distributed company, our team members excel at working autonomously.
-This position is not time-based, it's based on an article/month quota. The quota is a range as our blog schedule can vary from month to month. It is expected that articles be published daily (7 days/week), but articles may be scheduled beforehand.
-$1000/month for 50-70 articles/month
-You have strong English writing skills.
-You are an experienced writer with the ability to meet deadlines and adapt based on given writing guidelines. Being published is not a requirement, but it is a plus.
-You are passionate about music as well as technology and enjoy expressing that passion in your written work. Interest in internet radio, radio broadcasting, and podcasting is a plus. Knowledge of marketing concepts is also a plus.
-You can take ownership of an idea, either provided to you or your own, and develop it into a complete written piece.
-Writing clear, error-free, and engaging content is the primary aspect of this role. You are detail-oriented with the ability to catch the smallest of spelling and grammar errors.
-You are a quick learner and have some experience in technical writing, allowing you to interpret complex information to a learning audience.
-You value constructive feedback, using it to further improve your work.
-Our reliance on software collaboration tools and use of those tools to run our company is something that you've experienced previously.
