Description:
Negotiate, structure and draft talent, development, rights and production agreements for motion pictures for release in all media, and co-production agreements with both domestic and international production partners.
Draft and negotiate to final execution production services agreements for non-US productions.
Manage third party productions
Manage and guide guild productions (WGA, DGA, SAG-AFTRA, etc).
Develop and maintain relationships at major talent agencies, networks, law firms, financiers, production companies and other relevant industry contacts.
Assist training paralegals
Requirements:
Juris Doctor degree and member in good standing of the California bar.
Minimum 3 years experience as a practicing entertainment attorney at a studio or network or a law firm representing the same, with a focus on television
Excellent drafting and analytical skills
Experience with negotiation of above-the-line talent deals; experience with test options a plus
Solid experience with, and knowledge of, all entertainment guilds and agreements (WGA, DGA, SAG-AFTA, etc.)
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills in a high-volume environment, and proven ability to independently negotiate with major agencies, networks, and other industry partners
Extensive knowledge of laws pertinent to the television/motion picture entertainment industry such as intellectual property law and clearance, risk management, rights of publicity/privacy
Experience in structuring and drafting agreements for a variety of content types;
Experience with tax incentives and procedures associated with claiming government tax incentives, both domestic and international, a plus.
Demonstrated ability to problem solve in a professional, creative and ethical manner
Self-starter with ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and as part of a team
