Full Time Paid Internship
We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative graphic design intern to join our team this spring. Our department works on various types of design projects from advertising design, web re-skins, logo design and the development and design of assets for all of the conventions that Marvel attends. We work with all departments within the Marvel organization, so a chance to be creative is vast. Students applying for this design internship should be experienced in current versions of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Students should also have a willingness to learn and the ability to take creative direction is a definite plus! Portfolio samples are also suggested to demonstrate design ability.
Responsibilities
This role will work directly with the Merchandising & Promotions Production Designer and the Sr. Manager of Merchandising & Promotions to assist in the design of various projects of Marvel's Publishing marketing including print house ads, web marketing (website re-skins and banner units) and social media campaigns, etc. Other projects include but aren't limited to: posters, logos and branding. The intern will also have the opportunity to assist in the creation of Convention materials and presentations.
Basic Qualifications
• All candidates must be eligible to work in the US.
• All candidates must be at least 18 years old.
• All candidates must be available during the months of May/June through August.
• All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship.
• All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session.
Must have at least 1-2 years of past graphic design internship experience. Strong understanding of basic design fundamentals and proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Advanced skills in print design, basic web design, print standards, color theory and typography. Quick-learner with ability to take direction and work under pressure. Experience in Excel & Keynote a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
• Resume must outline other internships, degrees earned, work experience, related clubs and organizations, current major course of study, expected graduation date and extracurricular activities.
• Cover letter must include a personal introduction, and days/times available during internship period.
• Preferred Junior or Senior-level standing
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Required Education
• Prospective intern should be in Junior or Senior year pursuing a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications or closely related field. Website portfolio or PDF required.
