Title: Staff Accountant
Department: Accounting
Supervisor: Director of Accounting
Status: Full-Time/Non-Exempt
Position Summary:
This position will provide assistance to the Director of Accounting with various recurring accounting and administrative requirements such as month-end recurring entries, account reconciliations, departmental accounting requests and various other tasks. This position will also offer support with accounts payable and expense reimbursement processing on the Concur Expense & Invoice system.
Position Responsibilities:
• Assist in preparing journal entries and collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information for monthly and year-end-closing.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable and Expense Processing on weekly and monthly tasks.
• Perform special and specific financial and statistical analysis as requested.
• Analyze and reconcile general ledger account balance sheets and P&L accounts.
• Provide accounting support when needed for both the Accounting department and the Company as a whole.
• Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
• BA or BS degree with an emphasis in accounting and have 2 years of related accounting experience.
• Strong computer skills with proven knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional (Excel and Word).
• Ability to work with accounting and reporting software.
• Knowledge of the Concur Expense & Invoice tool desired.
• Detail oriented with organization skills necessary to work in a multi-task environment.
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Judgment in handling of confidential matters and information.
• Knowledge of financial accounting.
• Strong analytical ability and perseverance to solve problems with minimal oversight.
