2023 MLBPAA Summer Internship
Headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colo., the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA) is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) organization founded in 1982 with the mission of promoting the game of baseball, raising money for local charities and serving the unique needs of former players.
The MLBPAA is seeking an organized, self-motivated, team-oriented individual to assist all facets of the organization, including but not limited to the following: day-to-day operations, communications/public relations, event management, fundraising, membership development, budgeting, and memorabilia sales/marketing. This internship will provide a well-rounded experience for students interested in non-profit sports management and administration. Interns will receive $250 at the beginning of the internship and another $250 at the end of the internship; Interns may also receive college credit if needed. This internship is located in Colorado Springs and requires in-person attendance Monday through Friday at the Colorado Springs headquarters.

Responsibilities
• Assist the Special Events department with all event logistics; including but not limited to creating invites, making calls, confirming attendees, venue applications, and research for new events.
• Plan and direct a Legends for Youth clinic and Coaches Clinic with the assistance of the Youth Baseball Team in the Colorado Springs and Denver area. Including finding the host site, sending invites, confirming USA Baseball Background checks, and running point the day of the clinic with the help of an MLBPAA staff member.
• Support the Membership and Development department; including but not limited to research and execution of new member benefits, assisting in Alumni Days throughout the season, membership renewals and retention, charitable contributions, and Career Development.
• Create new and innovative marketing strategies to help recruit fan members and engage former players in the private Clubhouse App.
• The opportunity to work with the HR and Accounting Department to assist with accounts receivable, and accounts payable departments, and/or rolling out new benefits to employees.
• Assist the Communications Department in shaping the brand, image, and overall awareness of the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association through the development and execution of the organization's overall communications strategy, with an emphasis on social media.
• Create original content for @MLBPAA social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc., as well as assist with the details and execution of our 2023 Heart and Hustle Award and any other special projects as assigned.
