We are currently looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our team! The Intermediate Accountant supports the Finance department and its various deliverables by performing accounting administration functions for Frederator. This role will work in the Vancouver head office and report to the Wow Finance Team in Vancouver.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Prepares A/P postings and obtains approvals on all invoices and purchase orders
• Processes expense reports, ensuring that proper receipts and approvals have been attached
• Prepares month end accruals or recurring items when invoices have not been received
• Reconciles, codes and posts corporate credit cards
• Assists in the preparation and reconciliation of the weekly cash forecast for Frederator
• Assists the Senior Accountant/Assistant Controller in the month-end closing process, including but not limited to:
o Preparation of monthly journal entries
o Preparation of bank reconciliations
o Maintain the fixed asset sub ledger
• Assist in the preparation of the monthly management reporting package
• Assists in the preparation of the quarterly consolidation workbook including lead sheets, supporting tabs, variance analysis, and quarter-end adjusting journal entries
• Assists external auditors for quarterly reviews and year-end audit
• Provides support to the Finance team on special projects as assigned, including accounting/taxation/budgeting
• Communicates and maintains open dialogue with Frederator employees in New York and Los Angeles
• Supports and integrates the values of Mainframe, that being a commitment to innovation, creativity, professionalism and inspiration
• Interacts respectfully and professionally with colleagues, other staff members, partners and clients
• Additional duties as requested
Qualifications and Skills
• University or accredited post-secondary degree with a focus on accounting
• Professional accounting designation or enrollment in CPA program is considered an asset
• Previous experience in an Accounting environment
• Basic accounting principals
• Experience using accounting software systems
• Knowledge of Intacct accounting software and reports is considered an asset
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office including advanced Excel skills (i.e. pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
• Strong professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to research and report on relevant issues and/or changes
• Ability to work under tight deadlines
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to analyze problems and provide decisive solutions
• Develops new initiatives and workflows to improve processes
• Encourages open communication between the team and other departments
• Provides regular, constructive performance feedback to team
