Winter Paid Intern - Publicity

This is a Full Time Paid Internship

Magnolia Pictures is currently seeking a Publicity intern to assist us for the Winter/Spring Semester. As an intern working with Magnolia Pictures & Magnet Releasing, you will be working directly under the Director of Publicity completing various publicity tasks. You will also be learning about social media marketing strategies, interactive advertising, online publicity and how to run a major national publicity campaign. Throughout the internship, you will have the opportunity to work directly on our upcoming titles as well as our extensive list of archive films.

This is a full time, paid internship opportunity to gain an insight and understanding of the indie distribution world. We want you to enjoy your time here and learn! Candidates must be available to work 5 days a week for up to 6 months.

Job duties include:

• Support the Publicity team with research and other basic duties
• Assist with research and outreach for grassroots and influencer activations for upcoming releases
• Help to coordinate press days with members of the national media
• Assist at screenings and other events

Skills and requirements:

• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop (Illustrator and/or InDesign a plus) with a strong understanding of text/image design concepts
• Knowledgeable on various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
• Must be a self-starter with a strong sense of organization and excellent communication skills.
• Must live in New York or California
• Familiarity with Zoom and Microsoft Office Suite

Hours:
• We ask that our interns assist us 5 full days a week for a minimum commitment of 3-4 months.
• Our hours of operation are 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
