Magnolia Pictures and Magnet Releasing is looking for one intern to join its Marketing and Publicity team!
As an intern working with Magnolia Pictures and Magnet Releasing, you will be working directly under the Director of Marketing completing various graphic design, video editing, social media and publicity tasks. You will also be learning about social media marketing strategies and how to run a major national publicity campaign. Throughout the internship, you will have the opportunity to work directly on our upcoming titles as well as our extensive list of archive films.
This is a paid internship opportunity to gain insight and understanding into independent film distribution. We want you to enjoy your time here and learn! Candidates must be available to work 5 days a week on a hybrid schedule for up to 6 months.
Job duties include:
• Edit videos, design static assets, and write copy for social media campaigns across various platforms
• Contribute to the company's digital presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube
• Support the Head of Publicity & Head of Marketing & Distribution with research and other basic duties
• Assist with research on grassroots and influencer activations for upcoming releases
• Create materials to support and promote special Q&As, premieres, and other events
Skills and requirements:
• Proficient in video editing using Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects a plus) with a portfolio demonstrating past video work
• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop (Illustrator and/or InDesign a plus) with a strong understanding of text/image design concepts
• Knowledgeable about various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok
• Must be a self-starter with a strong sense of organization and excellent communication skills
• Must live in New York or California
• Familiarity with Zoom and Microsoft Office Suite
