ACQUISITIONS INTERN FALL 2026
The Acquisitions Department of the lauded and long running independent film distributor is seeking a part-time intern (24h/week, Tues-Thurs) for the summer to help support our team and prepare for the fall festival season. Position begins as early as Sept 1st and ends approximately December 18th (to be discussed with candidate).
This paid internship gives qualified candidates the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all facets of a fast-paced, cutting-edge acquisitions department of an established independent film distributor.
RESPONSIBILITIES (other tasks may be assigned)
Maintain acquisitions database (Airtable) with tracking updates on projects, new submissions, and information on directors/producers
Assist coordinator in compiling roundup of Daily Trades
Use trades and industry intel to track in-development projects and flag for teammates upcoming films that may be of interest
Conduct background research on titles and creatives using imdbPro, Cinando and other film databases
Evaluate films for acquisitions team with an eye on craft and general marketplace trends
Monitor our general inquiries/submissions email account.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Interest in independent film and knowledge of the current film landscape
Strong writing skills and the ability to quickly turn around quality coverage
Detail oriented, resourceful, motivated, professional
Proficient in PC / MAC (Word/Excel/Outlook); Zoom; Slack; Airtable; Dropbox; Google Drive/Docs etc.
Hours:?
3 days a week in NYC office.
Tues-Thurs weekly (or comparable hours to be discussed with candidate).
Hours are 10AM- 6PM with a half-hour lunch.
Hourly rate $20/hr
