SUMMARY OF POSITION
Magnolia Pictures International is seeking a Sales Coordinator in its Manhattan office (currently working from home, with occasional time in the office). This is an administrative role supporting the International Sales department; a great opportunity to learn more about the business side of festivals, sales and distribution, while working on high-profile narratives and documentaries. The position reports directly to the Head of Sales.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate the department in all sales functions plus interface with marketing, rights, research and delivery.
• Support all aspects of international sales including:
-Entering all new and pre-existing sales contracts into the rights database and ensuring that the database is kept up to date.
-Ensure technical and promotional materials are delivered correctly and on time
-Follow up with accounting to ensure invoices are sent and payments received on time
-Follow up with clients to ensure royalty reports are received on time.
• Create weekly and monthly internal sales reports
• Assist with the design/creation of simple marketing elements or coordinate more complex work with graphic designers: catalog, email marketing (MAILCHIMP), promotional items, posters, etc.
• Update CRM (AIRTABLE) and maintain accurate contact lists and track activity (links sent, festival bookings, titles sold, etc.)
• Coordinate market preparation (email marketing, scheduling, promotional materials, hotels, badges). Coordinator may be asked to travel to markets to assist the team on site (Berlin, Cannes, AFM).
• Support Director of International Sales with festival strategy
• Supervise intern (scheduling, sending screener links, etc.)
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's degree preferably in business, media or communications
• Demonstrated experience in the film industry (Sales, Distribution, Festival, Production or Post Production)
• The successful candidate must be highly motivated, resourceful, detail-oriented and display strong organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to go above-and-beyond without being asked, eliciting critical thinking with recommendations for process and strategy improvements
• Familiarity with all Distribution types, including EST, TVOD, SVOD, AVOD, Theatrical and Non-Theatrical (should not be afraid of technical, administrative work and legal language)
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products and CRM. Basic knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop a plus.
