MAGNIFY, the newly rebranded international sales branch of Magnolia Pictures, is seeking a seasonal intern (up to 40h/week, Mon-Fri) for the Spring semester to help support our busy sales team and prepare for major international markets.
The position is 6 months beginning January 13, 2025, and ends July 11, 2025. This paid internship allows qualified candidates to gain hands-on experience in all facets of a fast-paced, cutting-edge international film sales company.
RESPONSIBILITIES (other tasks may be assigned):
• Assists with scheduling meetings for the Sales Team using Outlook/Mail/Zoom (working with Assistant) and compiles latest info on confirmed meeting partners (buyers and festivals) to ensure the Sales Team is fully up to date.
• Send preview screening links to clients when requested.
• Assists with targeted research into new international festivals, potential distribution/broadcast clients, and release information or film comps when needed.
• Support Sales Assistant with the creation of marketing materials for major film markets including Venice, TIFF, Cannes and EFM, among others.
• Prepare Mailchimp promotional newsletters, accurate distribution lists for promotional mailings and meeting reach outs.
• Assists with film submissions to festivals and delivery of materials.
• Supports work-in-progress/co-production markets prep for the Sales Team to scout new projects for acquisition.
• Sources information about potential new film projects/filmmakers for acquisition and keeps tracking info updated (Airtable)
• Monitors our general inquiries email account.
• Maintains a central contact database with screening activity via Airtable.
• Manages MAGNIFY's social media account.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Strong interest in the international sales aspect of the film business.
• Detail-oriented, resourceful, motivated, professional.
• Proficient in PC / MAC (Word/Excel/Outlook); Zoom; Slack; Airtable; Google Drive/Docs etc. Bonus: experience with Canva, Photoshop or other popular design programs.
• Knowledge of foreign language or experience abroad at any level is a plus, but not required.
HOURS:
Hybrid; 5 days a week; ideal timeline is likely January 13, 2025 - July 11, 2025. Required to be in office Tuesdays and Wednesdays; Monday, Thursday and Friday remote (subject to change)
Hours are 10AM - 4:30PM less half-hour lunch
Hourly rate $16.5/hr
