Job Description
MagicSnow is currently seeking a bilingual Field Theatrical Technician/Stagehand for a seasonal project in Mexico City (Travel and housing provided) for November and December. Salary DOE.
The Field Theatrical Technician/Stagehand is responsible for the daily operation and upkeep of a MagicSnow production in Mexico City. This is a temporary position starting now through the end of the year.
Applicants must hold a valid US Passport and be fluent in both English and Spanish. The position is physically demanding and requires climbing ladders and carrying full 5 gallon buckets (50 lbs).
Technicians with experience in live events or production is preferred but not required.
MagicSnow is a Los Angeles-based special effects and entertainment production company, known for creating large-scale snow effects, snow scenes, and fully produced winter themed events.
MagicSnow creates snowfall effects, real snow, and special effects spectaculars for a variety of entertainment productions around the world.
Essential Functions
Operate large scale snow and bubble shows and maintain overall integrity of the show
Troubleshoot technical issues and make repairs
Attend to daily refills and reset of equipment
Complete daily show reporting. Identify and report possible safety concerns
Maintain, clean, and organize equipment and work spaces
Other tasks and responsibilities may be added at the Company's discretion
Qualifications
Must be reliable, organized, and punctual. Must have strong communication skills
Ability to use common hand tools and handheld power tools
Will need to carry ladders and five-gallon pails ( 50lbs) of snow fluid
Must be willing to relocate to Mexico City and be available to work from approx. November 15 through January 1
Must be available to work a varied and flexible schedule, including weekends, nights and holidays
Reliable transportation, working cell phone, and passport
Must be professional in dress, speech, and ettiquite
Fluency in Spanish is a required.
