We are looking for a business affairs experienced executive to add to our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of business and legal affairs in film and/or tv, and preferable at an major independent film and or television production company and/or studio. The scope of this role includes day to day business operations, accounting, and contract negotiations. The candidate will be responsible for independently handling deal negotiations and the drafting and review of a variety of rights and talent agreements for the development and production department.
In addition, the ideal candidate should also have an advanced understanding of foreign film distribution agreements. A comprehensive working knowledge of industry agreements, guild and union regulations (DGA, SAG-AFTRA, WAG), contract law, intellectual property rights (as applicable to the entertainment industry) is required, along with excellent drafting, negotiation, communication (written and verbal) skills and a keen eye for detail.
Candidates should have a J.D. degree and experience working in film/tv business affairs department, legal affairs department and/or entertainment law firm.
