The Responsibilities
• Participate in and direct our monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes
• Prepare and review journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and trend analysis for accounts such as prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals, and other balance sheet areas
• Manage accounts payable operations, reconciliation of fixed asset ledgers, expense accruals, inter-company accounting and consolidations, and treasury management
• Responsible for timely and accurate financial statements that are in accordance with GAAP
• Ensure proper financial controls and accounting methods are enforced and applied
• Administrator for the travel and entertainment system (Nexonia) which includes reporting, updates, and reconciliations
• Coordinate the preparation of external audit materials and financial reporting
• Assist in the development and implementation of processes and procedures to enhance the workflow of the department
• Perform technical accounting research and evaluation of non-recurring accounting transactions, including documentation of accounting conclusions
• All other duties as assigned
The Essentials
• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent
• A minimum of 3-5 years work-related experience. A mix of public and private accounting is a plus
• Extensive knowledge of the compilation, analysis, reconciliation, and auditing methods used in processing financial and accounting transactions
• Expert knowledge of accounting policies/procedures and financial statements
• Experience with Intacct (is preferred) or equivalent ERP software required
• Solid knowledge of GAAP and regulations
• Advanced Excel skill are required
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing to all levels within the organization
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure with multiple deadlines
• Strong program management and organizational skills with an ability to plan and perform multiple tasks
• Ability to execute, follow-up, and ensure attention to detail
• Comfortable working independently and being hands-on, with a nimble team in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated, self-managing, and skilled at giving and receiving feedback
