Full Time Unpaid Internship
Job Summary:
Lucasfilm's Advanced Development Group (ADG) develops tools and techniques for transmedia narrative. Our goal is to expand and enhance the process of creative storytelling in the Star Wars universe through VR, AR, mobile, and real-time rendering.
Responsibilities:
• Use machine learning to transform assets in our art pipeline automatically
• Collaborate with tools and rendering groups on approach to new tools
• Test training of tools and evaluate the output against existing methods
Basic Qualifications:
• Strong knowledge of computer graphics, machine learning, and 3D rendering as demonstrated by either academic projects, research or work/internship experience.
• Foundational C and/or Python programming skills.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Comfort working iteratively in a dynamic entrepreneurial environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Unreal Engine
• Basic understanding of a 3D content pipeline.
• Solid understanding of 3D math fundamentals.
Required Education
Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or Graduate Level student pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Graphics or related field.
Additional Information:
Internship Eligibility:
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization
• Must provide full work availability
• Must provide own housing and transportation to/from work
• Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)
Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are May/June 2019 - August/September 2019. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
