Job Summary:
We are looking for a collaborative and creative team player who reflects the innovative spirit, creative talent, and passion for great storytelling and filmmaking that define Lucasfilm.
The Jr Creative Executive is responsible for partnering with the VP, Film Development and VP, Live Action Series Development to manage the development, execution, and production of all film and series content. This role will focus on identifying new talent, managing talent tracking, managing deliverables, and functioning as a key team player on projects for the VP's, as assigned.
Responsibilities:
• Generate talent lists and obtains availability information as requested by the VP's for open writing and directing assignments.
• Generate clear and cogent verbal and written feedback on all story materials related to film and series through all phases of development and production on assigned projects.
• Contribute to brainstorming and developing new concepts for projects that are aligned with Lucasfilm's live action storytelling strategy.
• Participate in creative meetings involving executives, and key creative leadership teams, as required.
• Acts as proxy for VPs, as necessary, across internal meetings and with various lines of business.
• Manage status report of projects, liaise with other departments, manage agendas on internal meetings and talent tracking documents.
• Help to organize and manage creative conferences, both project and internal development meetings.
• Act as a key point of contact for agents and managers, and develops strong relationships with talent representatives.
• Evaluate writing and directing samples; generates or obtains coverage, tracking and responding to all sample submissions.
• Works closely with the Director of Development and other Creative Executives to facilitate a team environment and support the larger team's slate as needed.
• Oversee creation and distribution of Monthly Studio Report, Weekly Development Update, and Monthly Business Affairs Status Report.
Basic Qualifications:
• 2 years' experience in Story Development and/or production support.
• Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of management and with diverse personalities and work styles.
• Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal).
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to establish priorities and multi-task efficiently within a high pressure environment while meeting strict deadlines.
• Bachelor's Degree in film, English, creative writing, theatre, communications or related field, preferred.
• Demonstrable flexibility, professionalism, and finesse when handling the multiple and diverse demands of a creative environment.
• Effective collaborator with creative contributors.
