Position at Industrial Light & Magic
Technoprops is well known for its wide range of Virtual Production hardware including HMCs (Helmet Mounted Cameras), Virtual Cameras, Animatronics, Miniatures and bespoke hardware. As part of the team, the Senior Electronics Technician manages the assembly, troubleshooting and repair of electronics in Technoprops products.
What You’ll Do
• Collaborate with design teams to improve manufacturability, reliability and overall quality and presentation of product
• Assemble and wire intricate multi-PCB enclosures for high reliability
• Hand place and solder thru-hole and SMT components
• Test products using standard tools, in-house software and purpose-built Python scripts
• Diagnose and repair assemblies that employ op amp circuits, linear and switching power supplies, MCUs, FPGAs and various communication protocols
• Manage on-hand inventory and project-based orders of electronic components to minimize assembly delays
• Document assembly procedures and train other assemblers and technicians
What We’re Looking For
• AS Degree in Electronics or equivalent understanding of analog and digital electronics
• Read and understand electronic schematics and multi-layer PCB layouts. Cross-probe between schematic and PCB
• Mount and rework leadless and BGA components down to 0.35 mm pitch with IPC-2 or IPC-3 level quality
• Great eyesight and exceptional coordination
• Ability to precisely follow direction with a calm and patient demeanor
• Experience with Altium Designer, git, MPLAB, Code Composer, Python or general networking is a plus
