Program Overview:
The LA Lakers Internship Program is a season long paid internship (approximately September through June) that enhances students' experience by bridging the gap between the academic environment and a future work environment. Interns learn the business of basketball off the court and behind the scenes through department assignments, special events and professional development opportunities.
Intern Responsibilities:
Each Intern is assigned to a specific department as an official team member for the duration of the internship. Assignments are based on current business needs as well as the candidate's interest and experience. The Intern will work on key initiatives and projects specific to their department.
Professional Development:
Interns will participate in learning sessions geared towards enhancement of business skills and understanding of day to day business operations, including guest speaker sessions, resume preparation courses and a think tank project.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience using design programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Lightroom and After Effects
• Familiarity with Canon Cinema series (C100 & C200)
• Knowledge of lighting and audio setups
• Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Desire to work in sports business
• Enrollment in an accredited undergraduate or graduate college or university or recent graduate preferred
This position is not eligible for relocation, housing, or college credit.
