Intern - Community Relations

The Los Angeles Lakers Community Relations department is seeking (1) part-time seasonal assistant for the 2018-2019 NBA season. The Community Relations department oversees the Lakers' community outreach programs, youth basketball initiatives, player appearances and charitable donations. The goal of the Community Relations department is for the Lakers to continue to bring their championship spirit off the court. Our assistants will work at the Lakers Headquarters in El Segundo two days per week from 9:30AM – 5:30PM and at every Lakers home game at STAPLES Center. The candidate for this position would need to be available from September 2018 – June 2019.Community Relations assistants are called upon to support the Lakers CR staff at Lakers games and events. Assistants will have the opportunity to work with the Lakers brand and the Lakers players to positively impact the Los Angeles community. Assistants will be a voice connecting the Lakers with our fans and will be responsible for generating social and digital content that highlights our team's work in the community.  Job Requirements: 
• Must reside in Southern California 
• Senior in college or student in graduate school. Recent graduates will also be considered.
• Availability to work at all Lakers preseason, regular season and post-season games and events
• Experience working with youth basketball programs, non-profit organizations and/or volunteering in the community is a plus.
• Experience working with high-profile talent.

Job Responsibilities: 
• Providing support for Community Relations staff at games and program activations including Junior Lakers, Read to Achieve, Fit for Life, etc.
• Assisting in maintenance and distribution of non-profit group tickets and in-kind donations
• Posting and producing content for @LakersCommunity social media accounts
• Organizing and maintaining department calendar and inventories
• Responsible for all correspondence with Lakers fans
