Position Summary: This position is the curator, the director, and the visionary of all Lakers game night entertainment. A creative problem solver, this position must make quality snap judgements, stay calm under pressure, and produce a seemingly flawless, unforgettable experience for the fans.
Key metrics used to evaluate performance:
• Amount of new in-game inventory created and sold through Corporate Partnerships
• Quantity/quality of new game entertainment ideas implemented
• Feedback from fans – potential survey on Lakers.com (for broader fan base) or a survey sent to STMs (Fan Experience Survey could include a section on game entertainment or post a survey link on the new STM web portal for feedback)
• Overall run of show execution
• Feedback from other department heads
Essential Functions (Duties & Responsibilities**):
• GAME ENTERTAINMENT STRATEGY
• Work with head of Corporate Partnerships, Community Relations, New Media, and Ticketing to create a long-term strategic plan for selling and implementing new, refreshed game entertainment inventory
• Assist with in-game promotions and presentations
• Work with President, Business Ops/COO/CMO to provide innovative ideas to continually modify and improve fan experience at Lakers home games
• Consistently promote Lakers team and players while maintaining brand guidelines
• Plan, develop, execute in-game contests, presentations and entertainment concepts for all Lakers home games
• Maintain accurate, organized, detailed and up to date records, planning and implementation notes, staffing and vendor lists, files, databases and contacts
GAME DAY
• Build a script and running order for each game to include all necessary PA announcements, contests and videos, as well as all Laker Girls routines
• Distribute nightly game scripts and time lines
• Direct all game day entertainment from Scorer's Table
• Communicate effectively and lead all game-day staff throughout run of show
• Guide Corporate Partnerships activation team on game day contract execution
• Coordinate with Manager, Game Entertainment and AEG staff for any props needed
• Coordinate booking anthems, color guard presentations, music, in-game emcee/hosts and all other in-arena entertainment or promotional programs at a Lakers home game
• Organize and lead script meeting on day of game
• Work with Manager, Game Entertainment to order game-related giveaway items and props, as needed and that are not covered by Corporate Partnerships dept.
• Develop a local preferred vendor list
• Write script and execute the in-arena pre-game show, Lakers TV
• Share responsibility for South Bay Lakers Games with Manager, Game Entertainment
• Responsible for all music and in-game fan prompts, enhancing the overall fan experience
• Coordinate timeout and halftime breaks with PA announcements, and fulfill all other elements
• (At the end of each pre-season away game) Notify arena that LAL will settle balance the following day and to please email it to SVP-Business Ops/ COO

Education
(Required/Preferred): Bachelor's degree (preferred)
Previous experience:
• A minimum of six (6) years executing in-game entertainment in sports industry
• A minimum of three (3) years managing a team
Technology: Must be willing to wear a headset
Knowledge, skills, abilities:
• A passion for live sports
• A demonstrated ability to create an overarching vision and empower a team to execute
• Extremely organized with a high attention to detail and logistics
• A demonstrated ability to execute high-profile events and captivate audiences
• Exceptional creativity
• Pragmatic, intuitive, and data driven – the ability to read the crowd and use fan data to adjust future programs accordingly
• Must be able to make quick, quality decisions
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift a min of 25lbs. and walk significant distances in arena on game days
Location: El Segundo (offices M-F), downtown Los Angeles (STAPLES Center for Laker home games), and other occasional off-site events
Travel: Less than 5% of the time
Hours: Regular office hours (9am- 5:30pm M-F), plus overtime is mandatory; must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays
