Job Title: Account Manager, Global Partnerships
Division: Global Partnerships
Reports to: Director, Global Partnerships
Position Summary: This position requires a self-starter who is passionate about the sports industry business, understands sports sponsorship/marketing and is committed to supporting day-to-day servicing needs of our current and future global partners. This position is responsible for administrative activities related to supporting day to day needs of Global Partnership division.
This person should be able to develop detailed and creative activation plans in compliance with the NBA's International Team Marketing Partnership Program, to present, facilitate operations and activate upon approval.
This position requires critical thinking skills to deliver impactful results for our global partners through activations, community events, IP usage, social campaigns, and promotional opportunities. Organizational skills, analytical skills, attention to detail, listening skills, highly competent in written and verbal communication skills are a must.
This position will include but is not limited to the following. This person owns the day-to-day servicing needs of contractual elements such as game day hospitality fulfillment, in-arena activation coordination/execution and LED Signage submission, day to day communication with Partner contacts, cross departmental communication/requests (e.g. submitting partner branded content to Lakers social media team, requesting Lakers talent availability for a contractual appearance, working with the Facilities and operations team to host a partner event/workshop at the UCLA Health Training Center). NBA team international partnership rights are different than NBA domestic partnership rights. This person will need to learn and understand these rules to service the client effectively and consistently provide innovative activation concepts. This person should utilize our Digital Partnership insights team to evaluate and analyze best performing social and digital content (e.g. top performing partner content on Lakers owned channels) as well as develop analytic driven partner campaign recaps in partnership with Lakers Business Analytics team. Nearing end of season, this person would work with Director, Global Partnerships, Lakers Business Analytics team and our 3rd party vendors, Nielsen and Relo, to develop a holistic partnership recap presentation which illustrates the Media Valuation, overall reach (impressions) and ROI of the Lakers jersey patch partnership. This person will own and be responsible for execution of all Global Partnership contractual obligations. This responsibility will include internal and external communication to coordinate all aspects of activations.
Essential Functions (Duties & Responsibilities):
Activation & Servicing
• Coordinate the fulfillment of sponsor contractual obligations including media, signage, print, digital, social media, in and out of arena promotions, emerging demographic marketing, community relations, tickets and hospitality
• Organize Teams channel in a way so that it is easy to work collaboratively and find important documents, plans and information for each partner
• Gain a deep understanding of partnership objectives to work with Director and Executive Director on strategy
• Play a key role in renewing Global partners in order to achieve revenue goals
• Prepare contract breakdowns for each sponsor to provide details deadlines, necessary files for submissions and any other required materials for successful activation
• Maintain daily client relationships with external agencies and brand contacts while executing all sponsor programs and promotions from conception through completion including artwork, contest rules, approvals, prizes, promotional media, writing PA/digital copy and scheduling
• Understand partner brands and their competitors to develop solution-based platforms to help amplify partners' brands, enabling them to break through the clutter and achieve their marketing objectives
• Interface with internal departments to ensure turnkey execution of partner goals
• Submit sponsor promotional materials to the NBA for approvals
• Own all game day duties which include implementing partner activation, executing promotions and hosting sponsor receptions and suites
• Coordinate all aspects of sponsor special events including communication with sponsors, agencies, internal departments and external vendors
• Coordinate and maintain full-season proof of performance files including pictures, video footage, print ads, impressions, etc. to be used for sponsorship recaps and sales proposals
• Utilize resources from the Lakers Business Analytics team to evaluate status of partner social performance, best practices in order to create mid-season reports
• Host and represent Lakers organization at outside sponsor events
Development/Strategy
• Create customized season recaps for sponsors including the creative development of multi-tiered marketing programs and promotions
• Research other league and team (globally) jersey partnerships, kit partnerships and more generally, global (International) partnership activation best practices

Education
(required/ preferred): Bachelor's Degree required
Previous experience: A minimum of 3 years' work experience in a sports & entertainment sponsorship environment including marketing, promotions, sponsor servicing and special events
Technology Capabilities: Microsoft Office (especially Outlook, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Photoshop, analytics software (YouGov, Nielsen, GWI), social media analytics software (Relo, CrowdTangle, Hootsuite, etc.), online survey software, and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technological enhancements
Knowledge, skills, abilities:
• Strong written and oral communication skills; must be client-ready and able to professionally interact with all levels of the organization and partner/agency contacts
• Past public speaking experience, must be able to give presentations to diverse audiences
• Be able to understand high-level insights and deliver campaign strategy
• Motivated individual who is self-starter and can organize short and long term projects
• Ability to work and excel in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Ability to multi-task, strong organizational skills, analytical skills, attention to detail, listening skills, highly competent in written and verbal communication skills are a must.
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift a min of 25lbs. and walk significant distances in arena on game days
Location: El Segundo (offices M-F), downtown Los Angeles (Crypto.com Arena for Laker home games), and other off-site sponsor events
Travel: Must be willing to travel up to 5% of the time within Southern California and potentially out of state 2-3x per year and potential for International travel
The pay range for this role is $65,000 to $85,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience and certifications
