Los Angeles Jazz Festival Brand Partnerships Director
Overview
The Los Angeles Jazz Festival is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Brand Partnerships Director (or firm) to join our team and help launch the August 2024 debut of this exciting new entry into the global, international jazz festival family . The Brand Partnerships Director will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to acquire, service and activate sponsors and partners for the inaugural festival. This position will require exceptional entrepreneurial skills, as well as the ability to build and maintain relationships with potential
sponsors and partners.
About The LA Jazz Festival
The Los Angeles Jazz Festival is a new addition to the global jazz festival market and will take place for nearly a month throughout Greater Los Angeles. The festival will include music, art, fashion, food, and culture, with over 20 free concerts in parks, a youth jazz camp, a conference, a fashion show, and cultural tours. The festival will culminate with a 4-stage Caribbean night street festival and two weekend days on Dockweiler Beach, showcasing world-class jazz, blues, and R&B musicians, all while keeping the majority of tickets free.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a comprehensive sponsorship strategy to acquire financial partners for the Los Angeles Jazz Festival in order to meet aggressive financial deadlines.
Collaborate with the festival's marketing and communications teams to lead the development of compelling sponsorship proposals, including sponsor benefits, activations and marketing assets which strategically leverage opportunities to maximize the Return on Investment (ROI) for all festival partners.
Collaborate with our Financial Services Division and General Counsel to create all Sponsorship Agreements and contracts.
Research and identify potential sponsors and partners for the festival, including corporations, foundations, labor unions, small-to-medium sized businesses and individuals.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with sponsors and partners to ensure support remains strong and continuous for the 2025 festival and beyond. (Our agreement with the State of California currently allows for three years with the option to extend for 10 years after a successful year one experience).
Lead weekly team meetings to provide updates on sponsorship activities to festival leadership. These reports should be driven from a Partnerships Tracker which will provide visibility into the overall sponsorships drive.
Qualifications
Candidates will be evaluated based on:
Pre-Proposal
Proven experience and successful track record leading live events sponsorships sales drives at the seven figure level.
Capacity and enthusiasm towards leading the partnerships campaign for a new, start-up music festival.
Relevant cultural experience driving large-scale events whose primary fan-base are communities of color.
Creativity, management and team-working.
Interviews
Initial virtual interview (Late April)
One in-person interview in Los Angeles. (Early May)

About You & Your Team (bios, headshots, definition of roles)
Relevant Experience, including a list of previous live events, amount secured for each event and brands involved.
Conceptual Plan which outlines a top-line vision and timeline for hitting our goals. Financial goals to be discussed on interview #1.
