Full Time Job
Work in collaboration with Director, Turf & Grounds in all aspects of planning and maintaining the Dodger Stadium playing surface.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervision and training of staff in preparation and maintenance of the playing field for baseball and special events
• Assist with day to day practices involving playing field including; infield skin, mound/home plate repairs, turf, warning track, etc.
• Actively involved in chemical selection and applications and recording
• Schedule individual task responsibilities for all staff and supervise these activities
• Meet with outside groups in preparation for non-baseball events
• Other assignments as directed
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Experience as lead groundskeeper or assistant at a professional or college baseball facility
• Degree in Horticulture/Agronomy or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of turfgrass management practices
• Valid California Drivers License
• California Pesticide Applicators License
• Must communicate effectively in English, written and oral
• Must be able to work nights, weekends, long and variable hours in inclement weather
• Must be in good health with the ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time
