Job Summary
Community Relations Assistant will provide administrative support and assist the Community Relations and Player Programs department with day to day and game night duties associated with the development and implementation of programs and events. In this role, you will coordinate schedules, communicate with internal and external stakeholders, and take on projects as needed to support strategic plans and initiatives. Assistant will handle fan and community requests in-person and by phone, interacting in a decisive and courteous manner; using good judgment; and providing excellent customer service.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
• Performs administrative and office support activities for the department and staff.
• Respond to fan mail and take appropriate action, if any.
• Handle Vice President's schedule and phone calls.
• Handle donation requests.
• Assist with the implementation and execution of community outreach programs, special events and fundraising activities.
• Assist with the monitoring and upkeep of timely digital Community Relations content.
• Research information and services as required for player programming.
• Assist with the collection and reporting of player related documentation and appearances.
• Assist with scheduling outreach visit and program related donations.
• Assist with the department's game night staffing and responsibilities.
• Assume game night responsibilities as assigned.
• Perform other duties as required.
Characteristics
/ Qualifications
• 2 years of detailed office work in community relations or event management.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience focusing in community relations, marketing or public relations.
• Prior customer service experience required.
• Strong communication and organizational skills and be extremely detail oriented.
• Able to handle multiple tasks efficiently and in a timely manner.
• Works well in a team environment.
• Perform under tight deadlines and exhibit sound judgment on consistent basis.
• Possess strong proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word, Adobe Photoshop and PowerPoint.
• Strong project management skills focused on organization, time management and planning. Demonstrated dedication with the ability to handle projects from origin through execution.
• Position requires outgoing personality, confidence and creativity.
• Must be able to work a flexible and dynamic work schedule that accommodates the needs and demands of the stakeholders and project requests.
• High level of personal integrity, confidentiality and professional ethics.
• Flexible and adaptable to changing business conditions.
• Possess a strong sense of discretion and maintain confidentiality.
• Availability and willingness to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, and be on-call as necessary.
• Willingness to learn and flourish in a high-growth, dynamic environment.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Self-starter and entrepreneurial spirit with hands-on approach towards business.
