The Los Angeles Angels are currently seeking candidates for a Minor League Game Planning Strategist position for 2025 at each of its minor league affiliates. Game Planning Strategist will report directly to the Minor League Video Coordinator and work at the direction of Player Development front office, affiliate staff, and Roving Instructors.
Based at one of the Angels' minor league affiliates (Tri-City, Rocket City, Salt Lake, Inland Empire, Arizona, Santo Domingo, DR), the Game Planning Strategist would be responsible for the video needs of that affiliate as well as assist the affiliate staff with other information, technology and data as appropriate.
Applicants can come from any discipline or background, but will demonstrate a strong work ethic, the ability to learn, and adapt to new processes.
• The Game Planning Strategists is a seasonally contracted position working 8 to 9 months, 40 hours or more per week. Due to the finite nature of the position, benefits are not offered.
• Pay range for the position is $58,656-$69,305.60 annual rate (12 month), dependent on location of where work is performed. Pay for work performed in Santo Domingo, DR will be paid based on local wage ordinances. This position will work for 8-9 months so final pay will be prorated based on the annual rates listed above.
• The positions will begin before minor league spring training run through the completion of the 2025 minor league championship season with some candidates being considered to assist during Instructional League
Essential Responsibilities
of the Position:
• Capture, tag and upload video for assigned Minor League Affiliate using BATS and other related software for all home and road contests during regular season/post-season play
• Collect video and data from bullpens, batting practice and defensive work
• Coordinate use of data collecting equipment (Rapsodo, Edgertronic, Blast, K-Motion, Portable and Stadium Trackman, Hawkeye, etc.) and upload the data for internal processes
• Assist in preparing and distributing Advance Scouting reports and information prior to each series
• Support affiliate Video Assistant and coordinate data collection and quality control processes
• Assist coaching staff with miscellaneous video and data-related projects
• Serve as team point-of-contact for technological troubleshooting
• Will perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Bilingual Spanish/English, not required but preferred
• Strong knowledge of baseball analytics and associated data and technologies
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication and well as visualization skills
• Proficient with computers, iPads, high speed cameras and other electronic devices
• Ability to work weekdays, nights, weekends and holidays for the duration of the 2025 Minor League season
• Willingness to learn data systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Must have a valid drivers license with satisfactory record
Physical Demands:
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to traverse office and stadium frequently
• Ability to work in inclement weather (when in stadium)
• Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
