Overview
Angels Baseball is looking for resourceful and eager candidates to fill Internships in the following departments for the duration of the internship year starting as early as January of 2023. Actual start dates vary based on the department.
• Sponsorship Services
• Community Relations
• Ballpark Operations/ Special Events
• Social Media
Interns are paid hourly in the program and will work up to 40 regular business hours per week for up to 11 months. Applicants must be able to work flexible and some unusual hours during the team's season including nights and weekends. Listed below are brief descriptions for the various departments:
Sponsorship Services
The Sponsorship Services Intern will assist the Corporate Sales and Sponsorship Services Department in ensuring adherence to sponsor contract provisions, including execution of promotions and planning/execution of special events. This position will capture all advertising elements within the stadium during game days as well as facilitating client hospitality; They will act as a sponsor contact responding and fulfilling any request made by the sponsor; maintain records for all sponsor activities, tasks and accomplishments; assist with assembling client presentations and recaps; and assist with general operation of the Sponsorship Services Department. Intermediate working knowledge of PowerPoint and previous experience with Photoshop is a plus.
Community Relations
The Community Relations Intern will work closely with the Angels Chairman and the Director of Community Partnerships in organizing programs and charitable fundraising events such as the 5K & Fun Run; assist with community outreach programs; sort, and process fan mail; handle message requests for the scoreboard; and handle various administrative tasks. The Community Relations Intern will also coordinate monthly in-kind donations, merchandise requests, the Angels Brick Program and grant requests for Angels Baseball Foundation.
Ballpark Operations/Special Events
The Ballpark Operations intern contributes to the overall department efficiency by assisting in the daily administration of all events at Angel Stadium. The intern will assist the Ballpark Operations and Special Events departments in the planning and organization of all events at Angel Stadium which includes; helping prepare detailed event memos used by all departments at Angels Baseball. Assisting in preparing parking lists for both Angel Stadium Events, Special Events and Angel's games; Working directly with the Special Events department provide seamless customer service to internal and external special event clients; Creating and overseeing event memos and event setup; Creating event diagrams in accordance with Angel Stadium space and rental requirements; Execute pregame special events as well as non-game-day events; act as a contact for all third-party companies at Angel Stadium; issues TV crew credentials and TV booth assignments at Angel Stadium during Angel games; assist guest relations and promotions departments as necessary; and performs a variety of other duties associated with the efficient management of the stadium.
Social Media
The Social Media Intern will assist with creating and publishing content for the Angels platforms, provide analytics on account performance, and present up-to-date social media trends to the content team. The intern will also help write copy for social media posts, facilitate the distribution of prizes from social giveaways, and monitor fan comments and messages. The intern will help with content creation through capturing and editing photos, editing videos, and pulling in-game highlights for distribution on various Angels' platforms. Required qualifications for this internship include experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite, and familiarity with social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn).
All Intern Candidates must meet these Qualifications:
• High school graduate. Associates or Bachelors degree preferred
• Proficient in complete Microsoft Office Suite
• Proficiency in Adobe suite products is a plus
• Very strong attention to detail
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and problem solve
• Strong teamwork aptitude required
• Some departments require the possession or ability to possess a driver's license (to be discussed during interview)
• Ability to work long, flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical Demands
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to traverse office and stadium frequently
• Ability to work in inclement weather (when in stadium)
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally
