Job Overview:
Long Story Short Media is looking for a motion designer for an 8-12 week contract on site in our Petworth Office. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our creative team to develop high-quality motion graphics for a variety of projects. Deliverables could include lower thirds, kinetic text, full-screen visuals, logo animations, infographic animations, bumper/intro sequences, social media graphics, and event or presentation graphics. This position is focused more on creating engaging motion graphics rather than compositing or visual effects work, although an understanding of the latter can be beneficial. We primarily work with the Adobe Suite of products, and familiarity with media management systems will be helpful for organizing and accessing shared assets efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Create and animate motion graphics using Adobe After Effects for various deliverable formats (video, social, event graphics, etc.).
Collaborate with a team of motion designers to incorporate and animate visual assets from Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Work closely with producers and editors to ensure the creative vision is executed effectively and meets the project's goals.
Ensure projects are delivered on time and to spec, while maintaining high-quality standards.
Adapt designs and graphics for different formats, ensuring consistency across platforms.
Requirements:
Ability to work on-site for the full duration of the contract.
Proficiency in Adobe After Effects.
At least 4 years of experience as a motion designer, preferably in a creative or production agency environment.
Understanding of editor and graphics workflows to ensure smooth integration of motion graphics into video editing processes.
Strong experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Strong understanding of typography, composition, and animation principles.
Ability to comprehend and adhere to brand guidelines.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Nice to Have:
Experience in 3D animation (Blender, Cinema 4D).
Knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve is a plus.
Familiarity with project management and communication tools like Monday.com and Slack.
Salary/Benefits
$400.00 - 500.00 per day
