The Position
The Loki Group is currently seeking a Licensing and Copyright Manager in Los Angeles, CA or with availability for remote work. This position will collaborate with the Licensing staff at The Loki Group to develop and execute strategies to better protect and promote the copyrights of The Loki Group clients. This position will work closely with internal Licensing and A&R staff, as well as with external parties for Licensing purposes.
Key Responsibilities
Handling domestic mechanical licensing for Loki Records releases including reduced rate calculations
Maintaining and delivering sound recording metadata for neighboring rights organizations
Reviewing and summarizing music publishing agreements
Managing internal databases, including detailed catalog writer/pub splits, release info, audio, external links, licensing status, etc.
Delivering songs to the publishing administrator
Overseeing and reviewing PRO registrations, streaming licensing at HFA and MRI, and regularly delivering song splits for YouTube monetization
Registering compositions at the Library of Congress
Coordinating and resolving split disputes with co-publishers and record labels
Act as the main point person with royalty staff
Qualifications
A demonstrated history working in licensing administration roles within the music industry, ideally within music publishers, collecting socieities and/or digital service providers
Meticulous in researching ownership information of copyrighted works, with frequent self-auditing
Strong interests in learning aspects of various departments within music publishing and label administration
Strong organizational, problem-solving, listening, verbal and written communication skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting quickly and flexibly to change
Ability to keep information highly confidential
