Intern - Entertainment PR

This is a Part Time Unpaid Internship

A boutique lifestyle, celebrity, and entertainment public relations firm has an immediate need for a dynamic and enthusiastic intern to join our team. We are looking for a hard-worker, go-getter, self- starter who is eager to learn. Time management and organizational skills are a must. This is an unpaid internship. Must be able to complete internship in-person. COLLEGE CREDIT ONLY.

Duties include but are not limited to the following:
• Build lists of media contacts (magazines, newspapers, television and internet) and editorial calendars on a daily basis to secure stories, features, and other placements for clients
• Develop press materials including releases, backgrounders, pitch letters and media alerts
• Engage with influencers via social media
• Handling clients' day to day requests
• Events production
• Social media
• Create and maintain press clippings
• Research online credits, as well as scan print credits

Candidate Requirements:
• Must be available to work at least four hours two days a week. Some weekend event work may be called for, as available.
• Must like dogs! We have one in the office.
• Proven writing skills and knowledge of AP Style, news values, and journalistic writing
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills; good judgment and instincts with problem-solving
• Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be reliable, motivated, and organized
• Ability to prioritize projects and complete them in a timely manner
• Ability to work under pressure in time sensitive situations
• Experience in Lifestyle, Fashion &Accessories, Beauty & Grooming and Entertainment Public Relations is a plus
