Sound Engineer A2 - MGM Fenway Music Hall
SOUND ENGINEER
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
• Performs the Load-in & out of band equipment and rental equipment
• Cabling and patching / working together with the entire crew as a team
• Audio adjustments, maintaining safe audio levels. While providing a professional mix
• Audio Control Board operation
• Oversee visiting audio techs, especially during shows
• Responsible for safe and operation of house Audio systems (s)
• Assist with Production throughout the House as needed
• Assist the Production Manager with the technical advance with Artist's representatives
• Ensure proper care and handling of all MGM Music Hall and rental audio equipment
• Interact with visiting production crews to ensure a successful show
• Distribute or create audio plans for popular music concerts, Special Events, Conferences and seminars
• Oversee and operate systems pertaining to audio throughout the entire venue
• Ensure Special Events Audio needs are scheduled and met
• Maintain a relationship with Local & National Audio Vendors
• Maintenance and repair of sound equipment
• Attend Production Meetings
• Report building issues to Operation manager and Production Manager
• This is a union position
• Other production duties as assigned
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
Required:
• 5 years minimum Tour and Venue experience
• Extensive experience with professional audio systems
• Experience with FOH Console - AVID S6L-48D surface with the EL6-144 engine and or Monitor Console - Avid S6L-32D surface with (2) Stage 64 racks, (1) DQ rack, and a EL6-144 engine
• Experience with Clair Speaker Arrays and electronics
• Experience using Dante
• Excellent Mixing Skills
• Familiarity with Motor Controller and rigging techniques for audio systems.
• Knowledge of electrical systems as related to the entertainment industry.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Proficiency with all Microsoft, Vectorworks and or AutoCAD applications
• Must possess superior interpersonal communication and organizational skills
• Knowledge of OSHA safety practices as related to the entertainment industry.
• OSHA 10 Required
• General knowledge of all technical production categories, including but not limited to audio, lighting, staging, rigging and video.
• COVID-19 vaccination will be required for this position subject to legally valid exemptions.
• High School Diploma
Preferred:
• College Degree
Physical Demands/Working Environment:
• Must be able to Lift 75lbs
• Work in an environment with moderate to loud noise level, extreme lighting changes, strobes & moving lights
• Able to wear a radio earpiece during the scheduled shift
