DESCRIPTION:
THE JOB
The Boston Production Department oversees the execution, management, and administration of production operations for all Live Nation-operated and third-party venues, including amphitheaters, arenas, and stadiums in the region. Collaborating with the operations, talent management, and finance teams, the department plays a crucial role in liaising with clients, event planners, performing talent, venues, technical and site vendors, labor unions, and other key stakeholders to ensure the success of all events, both front and back of house.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to handle multiple projects and adapt to fast-paced, changing environments while maintaining quality and demonstrating exemplary leadership and teamwork. The candidate will be directly responsible for managing 75+ shows annually, and some travel within the region will be required.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
• Oversee all on-stage, backstage, technical, and site planning aspects of events.
• Advance and obtain key technical information, including venue specs, production needs, rider requirements, staging, and capacity changes.
• Develop and maintain production documents such as site drawings, on-sale layouts, timelines, schedules, and artist riders.
• Produce events across a range of venue sizes—from clubs and theaters to amphitheaters, arenas, and stadiums.
• Manage technical production elements (e.g., stage, sound, video, lighting, backline, broadcast, labor crews).
• Support site operations (e.g., power, heavy equipment, traffic flow, crowd control, sanitation, permitting, and engineering).
• Track and assist with budget management for assigned responsibilities.
• Lead multiple projects from planning through execution, including on-site presence from load-in to load-out.
• Maintain consistent communication with stakeholders and senior leadership through meetings, calls, and emails.
• Facilitate interdepartmental coordination and follow up on action items from internal and external meetings.
• Foster a positive, collaborative environment for planning teams.
• Contribute to event debriefs, including financial settlement notes and recommendations for future improvements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
Minimum Requirements
• 5+ years of production management experience across varied venue types and event scales
• Proven project management and planning expertise, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously
• Strong leadership and decision-making skills, especially under pressure and with limited information
• Proficiency in both Windows and Mac OS applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint)
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills—written, verbal, and interpersonal
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain composure in fast-paced environments
• Experience procuring vendors (e.g., staging, audio, lighting, video) and managing staff, services, and budgets
• Flexible schedule with availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and regional travel as needed
• Skilled in diplomatic communication with clients, vendors, and artist representatives
• Adaptability to new technologies, workflows, and evolving event environments
Preferred Experience
• College degree in a relevant field
• Proficiency with AutoCAD or Vectorworks for technical drawings and site layouts
• Training in health and safety protocols and crowd management
