THE JOB
The Director, Tour Marketing is a critical part of the Tour Marketing team, as a strategic marketing leader and core member of the department partnering with Tour Promoters, to develop & execute innovative marketing strategy. This person will provide best in class service and foster strong relationships with both our internal teams and external partners. They will act as a strategic partner in developing marketing plans working internally with cross functional teams – including partnering with creative strategy to lead creation of artist pitches. They will also lead marketing for special projects – developing overall marketing strategy in coordination with external partners & regional marketing team. Bottom line, they are responsible for elevating the level of service we provide to our artist clients and partners.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO
• Develop and execute marketing plans in conjunction with artist & project teams
• Manage onsale timelines in partnership with ticketing lead
• Cultivate & maintain relationships with external partners to provide excellent client services
• Analyze past purchaser data & use research tools to drive decisions & shape ongoing marketing strategy
• Manage marketing budgets to achieve business objectives
• Collaborate with multiple teams to successfully execute strategic integrated marketing campaigns
• Execute national promotions and oversee local promotions, both in support of individual shows and tours
• Partner with PR team to develop & execute media events and PR opportunities to support tours
• Oversee the planning of digital media campaigns across multiple platforms
• Oversee social media campaigns and promotions to drive ticket sales, awareness and fan engagement
• Oversee the production of marketing assets including: audio & video spots, key art, social content, etc.
• Effectively utilize internal marketing tools & resources, following best practices
• Manage one or more employees at the coordinator level within tour marketing department
WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING
• Minimum 5-7 years marketing experience in live entertainment or industry related field – international experience a plus
• Proven track record of outstanding client relationships
• Deep understanding of the live entertainment business
• Ability to clearly communicate strategic initiatives and navigate complex situations under pressure
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to professionally present pitches, marketing concepts and strategies to artist teams
• Work well in a team environment
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines while managing multiple projects
• Ability to adapt, communicate and manage in a fast-paced environment
• Strong time management skills, excellent organization skills and attention to detail
• Creativity skills and problem-solving aptitude
• Proactive work ethic
• Passionate about live experiences
• Ability to recognize and define problems, collect information, establish facts and implement innovative solutions, tapping in key stakeholders.
• Strong Microsoft Office Suite, G-Suite skills, Box
• Ability to learn and efficiently use project management software/tools – Asana knowledge a plus
• Experience with digital asset management systems and workflows
• Experience managing marketing budgets & campaign planning
• Bachelor's degree required
• Fluency in secondary language a plus
