Junior Audio Editor Job Details | Lionsgate
Summary of Position
The Junior Audio Editor plays a pivotal role in crafting compelling promotional content for distribution across national networks and global digital platforms. As an integral part of our team, you will be responsible for editing and mastering audio for video promotions tailored for diverse network outlets. Flexibility is key in this role, as you'll navigate organizational and scheduling logistics to meet deadlines effectively.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with producers/project managers to generate high quality programming and advertising material consistent with a nationally recognized premium program service
• QC long form programming assets to ensure program masters meet technical specifications set forth by Starz
• Operates digital audio workstations (principally Pro Tools) and associated outboard equipment and integrated consoles to edit, mix, master, and fashion variants of promotional content
• Properly apply equalization, compression, and effects in accordance with industry standards and best practices
• Operate sound effects/music database system to audition and retrieve audio for lock to picture purposes
• Synchronize ATMOS/7.1/5.1/2.0/1.0 audio to picture, to include effects, dialog, voiceover, and music
• Maintain high level of project media and metadata organization with our work-in-progress asset management systems
• Responsible for professional application of audio signal monitoring and processing to maintain pre-mix dialogue loudness to the prevailing specification and recommended practice
• Utilize signal monitoring equipment to measure & evaluate audio, and metadata content to match outgoing delivery requirements and SMPTE, ATSC, NTSC recommended practices
Qualificationsand Skills
• Some knowledge of audio editing/mixing to picture
• Experience with digital technology and editing software, especially Pro tools
• Familiarity with business platforms for writing, presentations, and analytical skills
• Detail-oriented and capable of organizing and prioritizing
Nice to Haves
• Knowledge in QC evaluations of long form content for television
• Experience with multi-track distribution and conforming within DAW
• Bachelor's degree in broadcasting or film and/or equivalent work experience
