Summary of Position
We are looking for a detail-oriented and collaborative Business Analyst – IT to join our Technology team at Lionsgate. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about entertainment and thrives at the intersection of technology and business operations.
As a Business Analyst, you will work closely with stakeholders across departments–including Motion Picture Group and Worldwide TV lines of business; Sales & Distribution, Marketing, Finance & Accounting, Business & Legal Affairs, and Content Operations–to translate business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements. You will play a critical role in enabling effective workflows and systemic solutions that support operational excellence across the company.
Responsibilities
• Partner with business stakeholders to gather and visualize requirements for IT systems, software solutions, and workflow enhancements.
• Analyze current processes and systems to identify opportunities for optimization, automation, or replacement.
• Manage demand intake, conduct project portfolio status meetings, and prepare reports on project performance and risks as part of the PMO administration activities.
• Develop project business cases and create and deliver presentations for executive leadership
• Create business process flows, data flow diagrams, use cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure accurate translation of business needs into technical solutions.
• Assist in the evaluation, selection, and implementation of third-party applications, cloud platforms, and internal tools.
• Support project planning activities including scope definition, scheduling, and resourcing in coordination with project managers.
• Conduct UAT planning, test case creation, and support end-user testing to ensure deliverables meet business expectations.
• Create training documentation and support onboarding efforts for new systems and tools.
• Act as a liaison between IT and business functions to ensure alignment and ongoing communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience as a Business Analyst in a technology, media, or entertainment environment.
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and software product delivery methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to translate complex concepts into clear, digestible formats.
• Exceptional communication skills and comfort engaging with both technical teams and business users.
• Experience with application lifecycle management tools such as Atlassian JIRA and requirements management and documentation platforms like Microsoft Office 365, Visio, Lucidchart or similar.
• Knowledge of title and data management workflows, content licensing and rights management systems, or studio content operations is a major plus.
• Cloud platform certifications (e.g., AWS, Snowflake, Azure) are a plus.
• Provide administrative support to the Project Management Office (PMO), ensuring efficient coordination and execution of project management processes and activities.
Nice to Haves
• Experience with reporting and visualization tools like PowerBI, Tableau or similar and project management tools like Smartsheet, Monday.com, Asana or similar
• Familiarity with CRM and data platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Snowflake, DataBricks).
• Experience working with cloud-based platforms, applications or integrations (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Background in Film/TV studio environment and processes
