Director, Payroll

Lionsgate has an immediate opening for a Director of Payroll in the Accounting department reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. This position will be responsible for leading the company’s Payroll function. Responsibilities include overseeing the timely and accurate processing of multiple multi-state company payrolls on a semi-monthly and bi-weekly basis, working with accounting to provide information for quarterly and annual reporting, creating and administering payroll policies and procedures and being up-to-date on current state and federal laws and regulations affecting Payroll, administering and training new employees on the company time-keeping system, handling technical issues and complex matters related to payroll, overseeing annual W-2 process, providing ad hoc reports as needed, participating and providing information for the audit process, and working on other payroll related projects.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated strategic thinker with exceptional computer (including excel) and interpersonal skills, strong communication abilities, good analytical skills, and some accounting knowledge. Candidates should be extremely detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and have a minimum of 5-7 years of similar experience. Must have knowledge of wage labor laws, and payroll tax laws. ADP experience is required, and experience with Novatime Timekeeping system is strongly preferred. A college degree in Accounting or Business, and a C.P.P. is preferred.
