Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Inc. is seeking a proven accounting professional to join our organization. The fluidity and agile nature of our environment means that no two days are ever the same. Therefore, successful applicants will demonstrate detail-oriented attention to accuracy, seamless adaptability for changing priorities, and the initiative to learn and grow.
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position is responsible for a full range of accounting duties. Specific responsibilities include:
• Manage contributed income accounting, including collaborating with development and budgeting teams to reconcile and report upon activity
• Prepare quarterly financial statements, 990 tax return and grant reports
• Review and record multi-year operating and capital pledges, including discounting
• Research and remain abreast of relevant technical accounting and tax guidance
• Prepare and review various balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist in timely month-end closes, which includes preparing accruals and other journal entries, in coordination with finance team colleagues
• Perform analysis of monthly financial results for assigned areas, ensuring revenue and expense are recorded appropriately
• Assist with monthly and quarterly cash flow reporting
• Undertake special projects and ad hoc analysis
QUALIFICATIONS
• Ideal candidate will have a minimum of two plus years of accounting/auditing experience.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• CPA license (or in process) and auditing experience, as well as non-profit experience, are strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must have good analytical skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude who is able to work with colleagues to achieve shared goals.
• Familiarity with ERP system adoption and process optimization a plus.
