POSITION
Director of Business Development, Concert Halls
LCPA is seeking a Director of Business Development, Concert Halls. The Director will be laser-focused on identifying, cultivating and closing new booking opportunities. The Director will create and activate a comprehensive strategy, including market evaluation and analysis, to bring new business to LCPA-operated venues: David Geffen Hall, Alice Tully Hall, the David Rubenstein Atrium and the Stanley H. Kaplan Penthouse, as well as the public spaces and plazas on the Lincoln Center campus. In addition to housing constituent organizations such as the New York Philharmonic, Chamber Music Society, Film at Lincoln Center and The Juilliard School, these venues are among New York's premier locations for classical and pop concerts, corporate events and product launches, film premieres, public installations, receptions, conferences, dinners and other events and performances.
Working with a world-class team of collaborators to execute events and performances of every size, style and complexity, the director will be accountable for growing and retaining business.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maximize performance and event driven revenue through proactive and sustained outbound client cultivation; develop a broad and diverse portfolio of clients and industry contacts
• Along with the Managing Director, Concert Halls, develop a strategy for broad and targeted outreach to previously unengaged clients most suited for business in LCPA's unique venues
• Engage with colleagues in venue sales, production management and guest and performance services to scope, negotiate, and contract events and performances
• Identify opportunities to leverage under-utilized spaces, dates and configurations
• Plan and execute cultivation events and other industry engagement
• Participate in industry conferences, panels, and networking events
• Maintain extensive knowledge of spaces, including capacity and technical capabilities, pricing, and other details
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree and at least 10-12 years of demonstrated success in sales for a performance, sporting or event venue of similar size and scope - or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• A substantial personally developed network of corporate, social and non-profit clients, event management and event production companies
• An entrepreneurial spirit and a collaborative, team-oriented approach to problem solving
• A client-first orientation in all matters
