This role is hybrid and is in the Pacific time zone. The office is located in Hollywood CA.
Job Scope:
We are seeking a talented Software Developer to join our team. The Software Developer will be working with other developers to create the next generation of workflow automation software in post-production. They will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable and reliable solutions that meet the needs of our clients and support the growth of our business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain software that automates post-production workflows
- Collaborate with the software team to identify areas where software tools can improve workflow efficiency and implement solutions
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to team-wide best practices for software development
- Create and maintain technical documentation for software tools and workflows
- Collaborate with other departments, including data operators, editors, artists, and producers, to ensure smooth integration of software solutions with existing workflows
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to continually improve software development practices
Skills/Experience:
- Technical B.S. or equivalent professional experience
- Required Skills/Competencies:
- 2+ years of experience in software development
- Understanding of microservices architecture and design patterns
- Strong knowledge of Python
- Experience with containerization (Docker)
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Passion for learning and continuous improvement
- Preferred Skills/Competencies:
- Previous experience in a post-production facility
- Familiarity with common post-production software APIs, such as Media Shuttle, Aspera/Faspex, ColorFront's Transkoder, Davinci Resolve, FilmLight/BaseLight, and/or MediaPulse
- Experience using Media Asset Management systems such as ShotGrid
- JavaScript and Vue experience
