Library Liquidity Company, LLC (''Company'') is seeking an attorney for an immediate entry level position in its business and legal affairs department.
The Company, through its various affiliated entities, either owns or controls rights in over a thousand major motion picture titles.
The primary responsibilities of the attorney will be:
A. Preparing summaries of chain of title, which are the documents pursuant to which the Company and its predecessors acquired ownership or control of rights in each motion picture title in the library;
B. Analyzing existing licensing agreements to determine when titles are available to be re-licensed;
C. Working closely with the Company's sales department to negotiate and draft license agreements;
D. Drafting a variety of documents, including sales agency agreements, non-disclosure agreements, cease and desist notices, breach of contract notices, sales agency agreements and option/purchase agreements; and
E. Working with outside litigation counsel to develop and execute case prosecution and defense strategies.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
1. JD Degree;
2. Minimum of 2 years of transactional experience, which preferably should be in the entertainment industry;
3. Must have a good understanding of copyright law and secured transactions;
4. Must be a self-starter with excellent problem-solving, negotiating, analytical and organizational skills; and
5. Knowledge of Filmtrack rights management database helpful, but not required.
Successful candidates will be engaged on a temporary freelance basis, but after an initial successful trial period the position will be made permanent.
