Estrella TV Senior Make-Up Artist
Position Summary:
The Senior Make Up Artist is responsible for continuously checking the physical and cosmetic appearance of all presenters and contributors whether live or on location and adjusting or changing as such, where applicable and should be a professional in hair style and makeup for TV. The Senior Make-Up Artist is also responsible for leading the make up team for Estrella TV's live and pre-recorded programs, including, but not limited to; Dallas local newscast, Houston local newscast, and Miami local newscast.
Responsibilities:
• Keeping control and maintenance of makeup and hair supplies.
• Applying makeup to clients using a color palette and different tools such as mascara, sponges, eyebrow shapers, lip liners, brushes, and applicators.
• Working with clients to create various looks.
• Working on various productions, photography shoots, backstage at concerts, or on commercials.
• Styling hair according to makeup.
• Applying touchups as necessary.
• Ensure makeup looks natural and well-applied under different lighting.
• Match skin color to color palettes to determine best looks.
• Working quickly and accurately under pressure.
• Maintaining awareness of health and safety issues and legislation
• Have common sense advised on combinations wardrobe wise to our presenters.
• Perform other duties relevant to the job as requested
• Preserve the cleanliness of makeup tools
• Prepare tools and products for make-up artist
• Ensuring continuity in hair and make-up and liaising with other members of the production team to ensure the overall look/effect is consistent and coherent
• Demonstrating and implementing a practical understanding of lighting, the photographic process, colors and the impact of special effects/make-up processes on the skin
• Ensuring that appropriate action is taken to minimize unpleasant side effects from the use of make-up/hairdressing techniques
• Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of available make-up and beauty
• Sourcing, budgeting and ordering materials and equipment from specialist suppliers
• May also be required to style hair
• Schedule makeup artist under his/her control.
• Assists with team's timekeeping on a daily basis.
Requirements:
• Minimum 2 to 4 years in TV Production, Theater, or Commercials
• Make-Up Certification required
• Cosmetology License is a plus
• Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a high pressure fast paced environment, usually with tight and changing deadlines.
• Bilingual: Fluency in written & spoken English/Spanish is required.
• Familiar with High Definition (HD) Techniques, Air Brush face and body required
• Provide excellent customer service
• Ability to work independently and as part as a team
Eligibility
Requirements:
• Must be willing to work in Dallas, Texas.
• Must be willing to work long hours, holidays, overnight and weekends on short notice.
• Must be willing to undergo a pre-employment background investigation
• Must have legal authorization to work in the United States
• Must possess valid Texas Driver's license and a good driving record.
• Must be 18 years or older
