Summary
Legendary is looking for a Senior Accountant to join the team. This role will work closely with the company’s finance and accounting team to assist in completing routine assignments within the financial reporting function, in addition to work on special projects for the company. This position can expect exposure to a variety of areas of film and television finance and accounting including production and cost accounting, valuation, film, and television financial modeling, and strategy.
Responsibilities
• Assist with general accounting functions such as quarter close, including preparing and posting journal entries and financial reporting.
• Ensure proper preparation and documentation of related journal entries.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly reconciliation for various balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare consolidation worksheets for TV production entities including foreign currency adjustments, elimination entries, and other top-side adjustments as appropriate.
• Manage company-wide credit card allocation process including analyzing allocations for accuracy and approval.
• Prepare quarterly TV amortization calculations.
• Develop and contribute to new procedures to shorten the close process.
• Contribute to the development of accounting policies to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Participate in year-end audits, including audit support schedules and related requests.
• Actively adhere to written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure SOX 404 compliance.
• Support quarterly and year-end financial reporting process, working directly with Manager, Senior Director, and Chief Accounting Officer.
• Assist with preparing semi-annual reporting package as required by our parent company.
• Complete special projects as assigned.
• Other duties as required.
Experience & Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Accounting, or Finance required
• At least two (2) years of public accounting or relevant experience required
• Existing knowledge of film/television accounting, including entertainment content production and distribution business models, is preferred but not required
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Prior experience with ERP/Accounting systems
• Demonstrable problem solver
• Strong ability to analyze and interpret data
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Willingness to work beyond normal business hours and on weekends when required
