Summary
Legendary Entertainment is seeking a Production Support Engineer to provide overall studio technology solutions and support. This position will architect, document, support, and maintain the technology services in support of Legendary’s production teams.
Responsibilities
• Technical and operational management and supervision of in-house editing, screening facilities, IDF rooms, and editorial room buildouts.
• Create and present proposals, perform cost analysis, and design and create workflow and engineering diagrams for all stakeholders from start to end in collaboration with budgeting and project managers through the duration of the project
• Administer production technology solutions to ensure security and compliance with corporate policies, as well as ensure continuous access and operations for all active shows
• Work closely with solutions vendors to develop and evaluate new technologies as well as the implementation of new technologies in the field and initiate and lead beta testing of new technologies.
• Attend industry conferences and events such as SMPTE Technical conference, HPA Technical conference, NAB, IBC, CES, CinemaCon, etc. to meet with new vendors and foster existing vendor relationships, and stay abreast of new technologies and solutions.
• Participate in industry standards for development of new standards and guidelines.
• Document, respond to, resolve and follow up on reported issues for various productions through the ticketing system.
• Develop and maintain operational documentation, network diagrams, standards, technical specifications, and test plans.

Experience & Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 5 years demonstrated education, training and experience
• Familiarity with Storage administration (NAS, Object, On-prem, Cloud)
• Familiarity with High Speed File Transfer Protocols (Aspera, Signiant, File Runner, etc.)
• Familiarity with post-production and VFX workflows and systems including (Avid, Premiere, RV, Hiero, Resolve)
• Familiarity with Christie projection equipment and Crestron automation
• Knowledge of CLI and UNIX commands for administration of various systems
• Familiarity with network technologies and products from Cisco, Palo Alto, and Airista
• Strong working knowledge of LAN/WAN infrastructure setups, switches, routers, firewalls, servers, VPN, and internet/intranet security architecture and applications
• Strong knowledge and experience with data replication, load balancing, LAN/WAN acceleration, and bandwidth optimization appliances and technologies
• Strong, demonstrable interest in the media and entertainment industry
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Project management capabilities, working in deadline-driven environment
• Ability to prioritize requests and manage time
