Position Title: Franchise Copywriter
Location: Burbank, CA (hybrid)
Reporting To: Chief Creative Marketing Executive

Summary
Legendary seeks a Franchise Copywriter who shares the company’s passion and can create and deliver impactful, on-brand copy for clients, internal information and serve as the copy expert for various media campaigns. Working as part of Legendary’s in-house Creative Marketing team, the Franchise Copywriter will be responsible for a wide range of copy and copy management, from trade ads and company communications to pitch decks, synopses and world-building franchise bibles. The successful applicant will have creative industry experience and a passion for large-scale, multi-platform entertainment, and the kind of detailed, fan-centric world-building that Legendary is known for.
Responsibilities
• Manage the mythology guardrails across the different Legendary platforms and products, to ensure consistency of lore and maintain storytelling that lives up to fan expectations.
• Develop and execute creative copy ideas for Legendary franchises in close collaboration with the greater Marketing department.
• Participate in brainstorms and copy explorations for a wide range of outputs, including but not limited to project titles, taglines, synopses, social media posts, character bios, trade ads, bibles, script summaries, etc.
• Excel in managing multiple programs simultaneously while adhering to tight deadlines.
• Copywrite both long-form and short-form content, from pithy headlines to narrative content, scripts, decks, and taglines.
Experience & Skills
• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on Copywriting experience within the entertainment advertising space.
• Exceptional writing skills, including an ability to write in a range of voices and styles for a variety of media and audiences, coupled with speed and precision.
• Proven track record of devising innovative campaigns rooted in strategic insights, including experience with digital and new media targeting.
• Demonstrated capacity to create content for both short and extended formats.
• Passion for transportive pop culture, along with an interest in world-building and franchise expansion.

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $70,000 to $80,000. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. Total rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. Legendary Entertainment also provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, employee wellness programs, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, year-round paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, market demands and indicators, specific and unique skills or training, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York and California.
